I first got into crypto back in 2017. Back then, I owned a massive bag of DOGE, although it was probably only worth about $200 at the time.
And we all know what happened next.
DOGE melted faces. What started as a joke became one of the most recognisable cryptocurrencies in the world.
The rise of DOGE doesn't make sense to a lot of people. It's a meme. It doesn't offer some revolutionary technology, and its real-world utility is often questioned. Yet somehow, here we are, years later, still talking about it.
And it got me thinking.
Is there something more to DOGE than just hype and speculation?
There's a certain feeling you get when you hear someone say, read a comment, or even think to yourself:
"DOGE is going to $1."
It's excitement. It's hope. It's the thought of being part of something ridiculous that might actually happen.
Maybe that's what gives DOGE its value. Not necessarily what it does, but what it makes people feel.
So here's my question:
Is your faith in DOGE based on its actual potential and utility, or is it that feeling of excitement, possibility and belief that keeps you holding?
Because I'm starting to wonder whether that feeling itself is DOGE's greatest asset.
